The Story Behind Courtside with Asia

Women's basketball has never lacked great stories.

I'm DeAsia Jackson, founder and editor of Courtside With Asia, an independent women's basketball publication dedicated to thoughtful storytelling and meaningful coverage of the game.

What began as a passion for following women's basketball quickly became something much bigger. The more time I spent studying the game, the more I realized the moments that stayed with me weren't always the game-winning shots or viral highlights. They were the quieter moments that revealed who players are, how teams grow, and the stories that shape the sport long after the final buzzer.

That's what led me to build Courtside With Asia.

Today, my work focuses on telling the stories behind the game.

 

Through long-form features, player profiles, game coverage, and historical storytelling, I aim to provide context, celebrate the people who continue to move women's basketball forward, and preserve the moments that deserve to be remembered.

While the WNBA remains at the heart of my coverage, the mission of Courtside With Asia extends beyond any single league. This publication exists to celebrate women's basketball at every level through thoughtful journalism, curiosity, and a genuine respect for the athletes, coaches, and communities that make the game what it is.
